Thanksgiving Leftover Ideas

Here’s something I whipped up over Thanksgiving weekend to use up some of that leftover turkey.  Nothing fancy, but resourceful.

Ingredients:

  • Leftover bird (preferrably Thanksgiving turkey)
  • Hot dog buns
  • Sharp cheddar cheese
  • Barbecue sauce and Mayonnaise (can be substituted with whatever you want)

Throw on some good ol’ sharp cheddar on that bad boy!

Get the buns nice and toasty and the cheddar nice and melty, and you’ve got yourself a nice sandwich for an afternoon snack.

I took the carcass of the leftover turkey and chopped up the residual meat off the bones. Then I took some hot dog buns (we didn’t have any more hot dogs) and lightly toasted them.

Then I slathered some barbecue sauce and mayonnaise on it, threw a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on top, and melted it in the toaster oven.

This is a great way to use up that leftover turkey. This also happens to be a good way to use up extra hot dog buns when you’re out of hot dogs. Find another meat!
