Here’s something I whipped up over Thanksgiving weekend to use up some of that leftover turkey. Nothing fancy, but resourceful.
Ingredients:
- Leftover bird (preferrably Thanksgiving turkey)
- Hot dog buns
- Sharp cheddar cheese
- Barbecue sauce and Mayonnaise (can be substituted with whatever you want)

I took the carcass of the leftover turkey and chopped up the residual meat off the bones. Then I took some hot dog buns (we didn’t have any more hot dogs) and lightly toasted them.
Then I slathered some barbecue sauce and mayonnaise on it, threw a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on top, and melted it in the toaster oven.
This is a great way to use up that leftover turkey. This also happens to be a good way to use up extra hot dog buns when you’re out of hot dogs. Find another meat!
